Personally, my favourite memory as a camper had to be my last year at Camp Otterdale this past summer. I stayed for the month of July as well as all of my friends and it was amazing just to be able to spend my last year as a camper with all of these girls who had influenced my life so dramatically. I have known these girls (and guys) since the age of ten and they never do less than bring a smile to my face as well as the staff. During July B however, we got to go on Out-trip all together which was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We went cliff jumping, and canoed, and swam in a waterfall and played more Dutch Blitz than I could ever imagine playing. We looked at the stars and danced in the rain, and although we were only gone for a few days it felt like weeks because we were having the time of our lives. It was moments like those where I realized how much I was getting out of my summer because of camp, and how much it had changed my life. I came to this place scared that I wasn’t going to make friends but after five minutes I wasn’t scared anymore. Camp introduced me to campers and staff who thought that who I was, was pretty cool which is something I will be forever grateful for.
Just wanted to say thanks for what sounds like a fabulous two weeks for Ben and Victor – they’re already plotting their return next year which is a testament to how highly they rated the experience.
Could you also pass on my thanks to “Bones” and “Band-aid” who called us a couple of times to let us know that everything was ok – that was really appreciated here.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and hope to see you in 2014.
I had a great time at Otterdale this summer!
Thank you very much for all the hard work you have put into making the camp what it is today.
I very much enjoyed Fix-It!
The counsellors and other campers were very friendly.
I am looking forwards to coming back next year.
Have a good summer!
Best Regards, Jonathan
The kids will start talking about going to Camp Otterdale again probably tomorrow and for the next 12 months. They really love it.
We appreciate how well you take care of them.
Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Thanks for two weeks of fantastic camp days. Both my campers came home with lots of enthusiastic stories! I told you my daughter was made for camp! (she even won the long distance swim). My son came home very very happy, wants to come for a month next year and wants to be junior staff the year after. I don’t know what you do at that camp, but he loves
it and it brings out such enthusiasm, leadership drive and excitement that is wonderful to see. I think the counsellors have a great role to play in this. Thank you for hiring a terrific crew.
Adrian has just had great time at the camp. Thank you for having given him the opportunity to discover for the first time Canada with kids of his age. A unique opportunity for a 15 y old Franco German kid.
Special thanks to Adrian’s counselors of Hawks cabin who took very well care of Adrian and the rest of the team.
George had a fantastic experience. He talked about it for days upon his return home.
Liam had a wonderful time. He said he wished he could go more than once a year. He is also now being a bit kinder to his little sister …almost like he missed her? One thing that I find really funny is how much he talks about the ping pong.
This is a belated huge thank you for welcoming my son in your camp last August. As you know, he came in a bit worried about the new surroundings, the new language… Needless to say, he did not want to leave and has made friends in the few days he was there. This has been a tremendous experience for him, boosting his self confidence, discovering new sports, having lots of fun. I cannot express how grateful we are.
We are also grateful that you accepted for us to take him away before the end – the school year here starting earlier than we anticipated…
He is already talking about next year ( “ it has to be the same weeks, mum, so I can see my friends”) and we are organizing this time so that he can enjoy the full two weeks…
- Our 6 year old daughter, Arden, had a great time at Otterdale Day Camp. She was so excited to go everyday. She LOVED all the girl councellors, plus Clifford, Starsky and Simba. They encouraged her to try new things and I know her self confidence will build in each of the coming years at Camp Otterdale. Thank you to Sue and Jeff for allowing the campers to try one overnight experience at the end of the week to see what it was like. Arden performed on stage with the other girl day campers and had a great time. She is disappointed she was not going back until next year, the week went too fast. She is looking forward to overnight camp next year.Thank you for your dedication to our children’s growth in self-confidence and independence, all in the spirit of inclusivity and belonging.Sherry and Sean
In the month she was at Otterdale, my daughter got her Bronze Medallion and her Bronze Cross swim awards.
I am so proud of her.
Thank you for giving the kids this opportunity. It is a life skill that might save a life some day.
She had a very good month at Otterdale.
It is heart-warming for a mother to see her daughter with great memories and big muscles (and a great hat!)
With fond memories of summer,
Mireille and Michel
The kids can’t stop talking about how they had the time of their lives!
We will see you same time and Place Next year!
Yannick, Vivianne, Mario and Julie
A short note to say a big thank you to you both and to your team of counsellors particularly Mozely and Ryder, Pandora and Watson. Jean and Mary Pat had a wonderful first camp experience at Otterdale and would love to come back again next summer.
With all best wishes and thanks again.

We simply wanted to say thank you once again for providing Emma with a wonderful, unforgettable (Ipod free – how do you do it?) camp experience. She is so enthusiastic about Otterdale, it is inspiring and contagious. I am sure she will be back next year. Have a great rest of the summer!

Just wanted to let you know what a great time Nick had at camp this year. We really appreciate the efforts of your staff.
A highlight of the session was the 3 on 3 basketball tournament – for him, that was a bonus, and a great addition. Also, the five year paddle – Nick is really proud to have it, and we are really impressed with the paddle itself – what a beautiful piece it is.
Thanks again for the five great years Nick has had at camp. I am confident he will be back next year, but wanted you to know how much we appreciate your efforts at making his camp experience a positive and confidence building time.
