Personally, my favourite memory as a camper had to be my last year at Camp Otterdale this past summer. I stayed for the month of July as well as all of my friends and it was amazing just to be able to spend my last year as a camper with all of these girls who had influenced my life so dramatically. I have known these girls (and guys) since the age of ten and they never do less than bring a smile to my face as well as the staff. During July B however, we got to go on Out-trip all together which was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We went cliff jumping, and canoed, and swam in a waterfall and played more Dutch Blitz than I could ever imagine playing. We looked at the stars and danced in the rain, and although we were only gone for a few days it felt like weeks because we were having the time of our lives. It was moments like those where I realized how much I was getting out of my summer because of camp, and how much it had changed my life. I came to this place scared that I wasn’t going to make friends but after five minutes I wasn’t scared anymore. Camp introduced me to campers and staff who thought that who I was, was pretty cool which is something I will be forever grateful for.
