Camp Otterdale is owned and operated by Jeff “Captain” Brown. Along with his Leadership team and staff, Captain leads the day to day operations and facilitation of all programs and activities. His involvement and his leadership is focused on making Otterdale a community where every camper can be themselves, be challenged and enjoy the many activities and camp programs.
Jeff’s experience in the field of children’s summer camping is extensive. He started at Camp Kawabi and joined his older siblings, Pam and Ross when he was a 6 year old. And he never looked back! After many summers as a camper and a Camp Counsellor, Jeff taught grades 6-12. He then served in the Canadian Navy as a Naval Officer (Mars/Clearance Diver) for 10 years.
He could never get enough of the camp life, however. He purchased Otterdale in 1995 and has been happily working with staff and campers ever since.
Jeff is an honorary life member of the Ontario Camp Association, an active board member, and chair of the Environmental Committee.
